The Scarffs Rd addition is a carefully considered extension to an existing brick veneer home, comprising two bedrooms, a bathroom and separate toilet. A glazed link connects the existing house and new addition, maintaining continuity through a restrained material palette while allowing the extension its own architectural expression. High raked ceilings and carefully positioned north and south-facing glazing enhance natural light, ventilation and seasonal performance. The project also places a strong emphasis on airtightness and passive environmental design to improve overall energy efficiency and comfort.
